LARS Junior Program

Empowering Youth with Skills & Training

The LARS Junior Program, operated under SLE and APMT, is an innovative, world-class 12-week hybrid initiative crafted specifically for Fijian high school students (Years 10–12) who are passionate about rugby but determined to thrive in all areas of life.

High school students are more likely to drop out of the education system which makes them vulnerable in later years. Lack of employable skills can keep them out of the job market and create social and financial challenges.

The LARS Junior Program works like a safety net for Fiji’s youth, giving them opportunities to upskill themselves and be ready for the job market in roles both related to sports and vocational areas of work

What makes LARS Junior Unique

LARS Junior goes far beyond traditional sports training, delivering a holistic experience that nurtures every aspect of a young athlete’s personal and professional growth

AI-Powered Psychometric Assessment

Participants undergo an AI-driven assessment that maps their emotional, cognitive, and behavioural strengths and development areas—helping mentors and students tailor personal growth plans.

Hybrid Workshops

Weekly interactive sessions cover soft skills (leadership, teamwork, conflict resolution, time management), life skills (financial literacy, nutrition, mental well-being, digital safety), and technical career exploration.

Family-Like Support

The program provides a “parental figure” for boarders, reinforcing strong family values, trust, and brotherhood within a supportive community.

Mentorship by Rugby Legends

Legendary Fijian rugby players, coaches, and industry experts serve as mentors, imparting leadership, discipline, and a winning mindset—on and off the field.

Career Pathway Planning

Each student develops a personal portfolio and is encouraged to explore pathways in automotive, culinary, fabrication, carpentry, business, and more.

Personal & Professional Development

The program aims to instil confidence and self belief in young Fijians, enabling them to create their own career paths.

Transformative Outcomes

LARS Junior prepares students for the realities of life beyond the rugby pitch equipping them to balance academics, sports, work, and personal commitments with resilience and confidence. Graduates leave with recognised certificates, a personal growth portfolio, and the skills to succeed in any field they choose.
